Spring Barley Disease Control
Spring barley and disease control.
It is very dry in the field and so dry weather diseases (like Brown Rust) are going to be the main problem – right?
These photos show what appears to be early infection of Rhynchosporium on the base of some leaves in a very dry field of what should be Irena spring barley.
Westminster is rated as an 8 against Rhynchosporium and shows no infection.
Many other varieties (including the photos in the slideshow) have a rating of 3, 4 or 5. Just something to remember… especially if it does ever rain again!
