Confronting Yellow Rust
Earlier on we saw the onset of Yellow Rust in true Winter wheat. Varieties like Skyfall (rated 7) succumbing to infection.
Since then there has been unfavourable weather for the further development of the disease – according to some; consequently “updated” spray programme appeared to reflect this line of reasoning.
A couple of photos show the difference between updating and not updating your approach to disease management based on what the weather is doing... not what is going on in your crop.
Those low levels of infection could be dried up with the correct choice of active ingredients, well applied and on time. Illustrated by the scars of this dried up infection of yellow rust. This has then helped lead to the base of the canopy looking healthy.
Attempting anything else can lead to the further development of the yellow rust in the base. Not ideal.
