Bean Crops

Bean crops may have been drilled into some cold wet clay earlier in the season but they do seem to be doing alright.

The sequential herbicides are now being applied. First a tidy up on the grass weeds ( eg blackgrass) and then something for the few remaining broad leaf weeds.

Why bother?

Well this is supposed to be a break crop; that makes it a cleaning crop (preventing seed return) and I certainly don’t want to increase the levels of the disease “Take All” in next year’s wheat crop.
